Native Grass Seed Program
The MD of Ranchland initiated the Native Grass Seed Program in 2005. The program aims to provide a clean source of grass seed with the unique characteristics of our area for reclamation projects. We focus on harvesting rough fescue and Parry’s oatgrass. Staff identify potential sites during their regular duties, considering factors such as stand purity, quantity, ease of access, and terrain.
Industry entities interested in purchasing seed should contact the Agricultural Fieldman, Rick Niwa, at ag@ranchland66.com to inquire about available product.
Environmental Farm Plans
Environmental Farm Plans (EFP’s)

The Environmental Farm Plan (EFP) is a voluntary assessment aimed at enhancing the sustainability of your farm business. Through the EFP process, you will identify your farm’s environmental strengths, recognize areas of concern, and develop realistic action plans with timelines to improve environmental conditions. EFPs are required for most government cost-share funding opportunities, so it is essential to keep yours up to date. The MD of Ranchland offers the assistance of an in-house technician to help you with your EFP.
For assistance with your EFP: Erika Holowath, ag3@ranchland66.com
