Wildfire CWF-043-2022 is currently classified by Alberta Wildfire as BEING HELD.  It is located in the M.D. of Ranchland on the west side of Highway 22, near the intersection of Chimney Rock Road and Saddle Mountain Road.  The wildfire was detected last night and is currently mapped at six hectares.

The fire was initially actioned by local ranchers and M.D. of Willow Creek firefighters from the Nanton, Stavely, Claresholm and Granum fire departments.  Alberta Wildfire has fire resources on scene and will be working in the area all day.  Smoke may be visible from Highway 22.  At this time, there is no direct threat to residences or other infrastructure.
